Our Story

I had no idea that this woman I met would end up being the most important person in my life. Here is how our story goes…

    How We Met

    How We Met

I met Adriana, in the same manner, I meet many other people, she asked me if I could fix her laptop! Of course, I said yes and thought nothing of it. However, she became a frequent flier and I had a suspicion something else was going on…

    The First Date

    The First Date

After working several repair jobs on Adriana’s laptop, I was informed she needed a rushed battery replacement on her MSI as she was going back to Ecuador very soon and it was a prohibitively expensive job there as it is difficult to source parts since shipping items to Ecuador is crazy expensive. I was able to find the proper battery on Amazon and had it delivered via overnight delivery. The day before she was leaving Lubbock I replaced the battery and my mom invited us to eat dinner together, we conversed a bit and I started thinking “Today is her last day here, I should see if she wants to go out somewhere” During that thought my mom blurted out “JON you should ask Adriana if she wants to go out for ice cream!” “Here’s my chance,” I thought So I asked her and she responded with an excited yes. We went to J’s Creamery and enjoyed a Cinnamon Churro Concrete together, we talked so much that she ended up getting back to her aunt’s house at 1 AM even though she had to wake up early to get to the airport! We had our first kiss in my car as I was dropping her off and the rest is history.

    We meet again in Ecuador

    We meet again in Ecuador

Several months go by while we’ve been casually keeping up with each other via WhatsApp and Instagram. Her aunt was over at my parent’s house one afternoon celebrating the beautiful new house that she purchased in Ecuador. She asked me if I would be interested in traveling with her to assist her with setting up the internet and cameras at her new house. I instantly thought of me being able to see Adriana again, I thought for a bit about it and I told her that I would be interested in going to Ecuador. During that trip, I was able to spend 2 weeks together with Adriana and her beautiful family. We traveled to Baños where we ascended Mt. Tungarahua in a Chiva bus, danced at a local club, and swam in the thermal waters. We took a day trip to Salinas where we ate delicious seafood, Watched the sea lions rest on the rocks from La Chocolatera, and walked on the beach. Later that day back in Guayaquil,  Adriana and I attended a Rock and Beer festival where we discovered some of our favorite music together.

  • Even when we were apart

    Even when we were apart

Following those unforgettable memories, we spent countless days and nights sharing special moments together over FaceTime, even though we were physically apart. Whether we were working on separate tasks or simply chatting, knowing that we were on a call with each other made us feel so loved and connected. Despite our efforts to bridge the distance, we still missed each other deeply with every passing moment. So…

    Miami Baby!

We started planning trips together because we simply didn’t want to be apart. Every time we saw each other, we got to know each other better and our connection grew stronger. We have amazing chemistry and work so well as a team! Our first trip was to Miami, a place we both love!

    Puerto Rico

    Puerto Rico

Just two days before I was scheduled to return to Ecuador, Jon surprised me with an incredible invitation to visit Puerto Rico. Thanks to his spontaneous gesture, I was able to extend my stay and spend an entire extra week with him and his beautiful family. We shared countless unforgettable moments exploring the island’s natural beauty in each other’s company, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Christmas & New Year's In Orlando

Christmas & New Year's In Orlando

Even though we had plans to see each other in January, the wait felt unbearable. But one night, as we talked about how much we longed to spend Christmas and New Year together, something magical happened. As if fate itself intervened, we discovered that tickets to Orlando were more affordable than we had ever imagined. Without hesitation, we decided to seize the opportunity and make our dreams come true! The very next morning, while I was on my way back to Guayaquil, my family and I purchased the tickets. When we finally reunited, it was a moment of pure happiness and love. Our embrace was deep and soulful, filled with the overwhelming joy of being together once again.

    Hawaii

    Hawaii

In less than a month, we were traveling once again to meet in Hawaii. But this trip was extra special, because after Hawaii we would finally be two whole months together, where we would be spending more time together than ever before! we made the most of it by enjoying each other’s company to the fullest. We laughed, we talked, and we created unforgettable memories.

    Valentine's Day

For Valentine’s Day, Jon surprised me with the most enchanting romantic getaway. Our time there was a dream come true, filled with countless magical moments that I will always treasure. I had the pleasure of meeting more of his amazing family, playing in the snow like kids, admiring beautiful works of art in museums, and enjoying a truly unforgettable romantic dinner. It was a true celebration of our love!

    We are Engaged

    We are Engaged

As the days flew by and the time for us to part ways drew near, Jon and I felt a deep sense of sadness knowing that soon we would have to say goodbye. But Jon had a surprise that would turn our sadness into joy. While having a magical dinner and, he asked me to be his partner in life, and I said YES! It was such a happy and emotional moment for us, knowing that we were committing to spending our lives together. So now we are…

Registry

Dear friends and family, we are registered at

 Amazon

&

Target

where you can find gift ideas we would appreciate. However, as we embark on our journey as a married couple, there are various expenses we need to address, particularly related to the immigration process. While we appreciate traditional wedding gifts, we would be immensely grateful for cash gifts that can help us cover the costs associated with starting our new life together.

Your cash gifts would not only help us pay for immigration fees and attorney expenses but also enable us to achieve our aspirations as a couple, saving for a down payment on a future home, and even setting aside funds for our future honeymoon once Adriana’s immigration status is resolved.

Your gifts will help us establish a solid foundation for our future together. Your love and support mean everything to us, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering contributing to our wedding cash registry. We look forward to celebrating this special day with you.”

Sincerely,

Jon Francis Colón

Adriana García
